We tell the BOJ&A story to all our new team members upon joining. Formally, our story begins in 1996 when the legal profession became regulated. Back then, our firm was named initially Cunescu & Balaciu, and we were among the first law offices set up in post communist Romania. Since 1996 the founders of the firm Alina Balaciu and Alina Balaciu and Constantin Cunescu had began working as a team and, together they achieved many “firsts” in Romania at the time. Beatrice Onica – Jarka joined the founders in 1996 and in 1997 she became the first new generation partner. Over the years many promising lawyers joined the team, most of them remained to contribute to the excellency of the team and some chose to develop independently. Both founding partners retired: Constantin Cunescu in 2009, and Alina Balaciu in 2013. With their retirements, the firm entered under the complete control of new generation of partners – a first for Romania! This new generation has been carrying on the traditions and values established by our founding partners, thus ensuring a stable nurturing ground for future lawyers and continuing our unwavering commitment to provide the best possible solutions for our diverse clients. In 2020, the company was renamed BEATRICE ONICA – JARKA & ASOCIATII after the name of the first generation partner owning the law firm from its formal establishment in 1996. In January 2021, while celebrating 25 years, the law firm welcomed three new partners – brilliant professionals. Now counting 4 partners and 15 lawyers and legal staff, BEATRICE ONICA – JARKA & ASOCIATII enters in a new stage of excellency and professionalism.
